Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actress and singer. Through her long career she has been on TV, in film and musical theatre. She also performed as a solo artist and recorded. She is a highly-acclaimed Broadway performer. She has earned seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway performances.
Peters is widely recognized as the most prominent interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
