Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix displayed an early talent to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic talent at that time. In only 10 weeks following her first race, Felix finished 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. The following year, Felix won her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to take home the 200 meters race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
